Governors

The Governing Body of the school have a wide range of responsibilities including policy, vision and employing the staff.  The Governing Body is made up of eight Foundation Governors, including the incumbent who are appointed by the Oxford Diocesan Board of Education.

The LEA appoint one Governor. The parents elect two parent Governors. The headteacher can elect whether or not to be a governor. The Teaching staff and non-teaching staff each elect a Governor.

The committees of the Governing Body are:

Monitoring and Outcomes  monitor standards, the curriculum, behaviour, provision for Special Educational Needs and attainment in the school. They also ensure the principles of “Every Child Matters” is at the heart of our work. 

Finance and Premises set (with the approval of the whole Governing Body) and monitor the budget, monitor progress on all aspects of premises including Health and Safety. Make recommendations to the Governing Body on all financial matters.

Personnel set the staff structure, agree person specifications for posts and appoint staff with reference to available funds. They also promote staff professional development and training.
